About the Role

This senior-level position is responsible for driving strategic business development initiatives and accelerating revenue growth within a defined territory. The role combines deep scientific expertise with commercial leadership to secure high-value discovery partnerships and expand market presence across biologics and advanced therapies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of complex business opportunities, including financial modelling, due diligence, deal structuring, and contract negotiation
  • Drive sales of discovery services across antibodies, cell, and gene therapy platforms
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to penetrate new markets and expand existing accounts
  • Build and maintain senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted scientific and commercial advisor
  • Partner with internal scientific and technical teams to design tailored solutions and competitive proposals
  • Align service offerings with client research pipelines, ensuring strong technical and strategic fit
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, funding landscapes, and regulatory developments to inform strategy
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to define and execute territory growth strategies
  • Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to overall team performance and capability development
  • Work cross-functionally to secure business in competitive environments and ensure successful deal closure
  • Provide market intelligence and customer insights to inform business expansion and innovation
  • Build and leverage a strong industry network to generate and sustain new business opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. life sciences)
  • 5+ years of business development or sales experience within biopharma, CRO, or CDMO environments
  • Strong understanding of biologics discovery, including antibodies and cell & gene therapies
  • Proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals and exceeding revenue targets
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with technical credibility
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, global, and highly competitive environment
  • Experience managing multiple opportunities and accurately forecasting sales pipelines
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional teams

Salary: Up to $135,000 plus commission, depending on experience
